Cheers to a Happy New year of 2022. Twenty-one days later and
It’s so much still going on in the world but, I wanted to check-in.
I hope you are all keeping safe and well.
We all know that the year 2020 was the worst.
Many people wished life would return to normalcy. 2021 did not do much from my observation. I know, the last year came quickly and left with not much of a change. The Year 2021 was exhausting, but it turned out well for the most part. After; pondering about my goals and accomplishments. It dawned on me that I did accomplish a few of my small goals; one of the first goals on the list is my Health.
My goal was to lose my post-partum weight and fit back into my pre-pregnancy pants. As soon as February rolled in, I set a weight loss goal. First, I did intermittent fasting and slowly introduced vegetarian meals. I should have planned a weekly meatless dish. Then I went cold turkey and gave up meat and other poultry products such as seafood. I must emphasize that it was the most challenging thing I have ever done. I did not disclose any information or plans to friends. I have learned if anything, the result will speak for itself. I was an emotional eater.
There was a need to break that cycle of feeling out of control. It was challenging to Let go of dairy and animal products was a hard pill to swallow because I was so used to comforting myself with food. I bought a plant-based book to help aid and engage the desire for plant-based fruits and nuts. I plan on learning about different ways of creating well-seasoned meals and making delicious vegan marinades.
I love when meals have the taste that gives the soul life. Food with bland taste zaps the joy out of me. Overall, 2021 was the year that I began my self-development journey. My 2022 goal is to pursue consistency with my self-care routine. I would like to see growth on my blog site while enjoying the process.
What is your goal for 2022?
What would you like to complete or start in 2022?
