How Working Out Helps Me Release Stress

What are your favorite physical activities or exercises?

My relationship with physical activity has shifted so much over the years. I’m not someone who needs intense workouts to feel good .I gravitate toward movement that feels soft, grounding, and kind to my body.

Here are a few activities I genuinely enjoy:

1. Long, slow walks, especially on quiet mornings.

There’s something calming about stepping outside before the world gets loud. Walking helps me clear my mind, pray, breathe, and reset.

2. Stretching at home.

Nothing fancy, just simple stretches that release tension in my shoulders, neck, and lower back. It feels like giving my body a little gratitude.

3. Light yoga or mobility flow videos.

I like routines that don’t require equipment or pressure. Gentle movements, soft music, deep breaths.

4. Dancing around the house.

Honestly, some of my happiest moments come from dancing while cleaning or cooking. It’s fun, it’s freeing, and it reminds me not to take life too seriously.

5. Any form of movement that feels natural.

Sometimes that’s a quick walk, sometimes it’s stretching on the couch, and sometimes it’s just moving my body in small, intuitive ways.

I’ve learned that exercise doesn’t have to be extreme or perfect. it just needs to feel good and help me reconnect with myself.
